For 85% of consumers, the digital experience is just as important as promotions

Given the upward trend in electronic commerce, companies must work with their IT (information technology) teams to strengthen their online sales channels and guarantee the best digital experience for consumers, who are increasingly demanding.

It is that according to the Holiday Shopping Pulse Survey, from Cisco AppDynamics, 97% of Colombian consumers will make at least one online purchase in the next two months.

However, while confidence in digital sales channels grows, so do customer demands, since 98% of buyers consider that not having interruptions and delays in their applications or web services is extremely important when it comes to to make your purchases.

Similarly, according to the study, the increase in the cost of living, inflation, and the depreciation of the peso, among other factors, have contributed to Colombians valuing the discounts offered by businesses more than ever.

In this order of ideas, it stands out that close to 98% of buyers will prefer to make their purchases with some type of promotion. In fact, 90% admit that they will wait for special dates like Black Friday or Cyber ​​Monday to get better prices.

Furthermore, according to the expert, although discounts are crucial in the decision-making process of buyers, this is not the most important factor.

For 85% of consumers, the digital experience is just as relevant as the promotions offered by the trade. In this way, brands that want to scale should prioritize digital transformation within their strategies, especially considering that the new generation of e-commerce (metaverse, deliveries, sustainable, multicourier) is increasingly present in transactions.

Similarly, Colombian consumers have become totally unforgiving towards brands that fail to meet their high expectations of the digital experience.

In fact, during the recent 2022 holiday shopping season, 64% said that retailers only get one chance to impress them and that if their digital service isn’t working properly, they won’t hesitate to choose other options.
