On the afternoon of this Wednesday, February 15, Meta made an announcement that changes one of the ways in which the social network was used as an e-commerce tool.
In the same vein, the company announced that will remove purchases on Instagram live videos on March 16, a measure that it adopts to focus on those functions and features that offer “value” to users.
Live video purchases allow viewers to purchase what they are currently watchingbased on the products that content creators and brands tag in their broadcasts.
This way of promoting products will disappear from the Meta platform, in line with its disappearance last year of the purchases in direct that also integrated the social network Facebook.
Now, on this occasion, the technology company notified its decision on the US English page dedicated to the function, where it indicates that it will no longer be possible to tag products to broadcasts as of March 16.
“This change will help us focus on the products and features that provide the most value to our users,” the company said. However, other purchasing functions, such as stores, are maintained.
Instagram now allows you to revive old ‘stories’ and turn them into new ‘reels’ with friends
Instagram has introduced a shortcut in the ‘Stories’ section to remember old ‘stories’ published on the platform and encourage users to share them with other people so they can also see them.
The company already has a tool that collects the different images and videos shared on the social network in this sectionlocated at the top of the interface, above the ‘feed’.
To access it, you must choose the profile tab, located at the bottom right of the screen. Next, the three lines of the menu at the top right and choose the option ‘File’.

This section shows the live videos made in said account, the contents of the ‘feed’ archived, deleted for public view, but stored on the platform, and the stories that have been published, with their corresponding date.
In this last sectionthe contents are arranged in preview format with thumbnails, calendar (which organizes these publications by date) and according to the place where they have been published in case you have added a certain location.
Instagram has now introduced a ‘Memories’ button, placed next to a user’s profile picture in Stories, which automatically directs users to stories posted that day.
“Review the moments you shared around these dates,” warns the social network, owned by Metawhich has encouraged the owners of these accounts to share their stories “so other people can see them too.”

Instagram has introduced this button in both the iOS and Android versions of the application, although it is not present in the web version, as international media have been able to verify.
On the other hand, it is worth noting that a couple of weeks ago the Meta social network incorporated a new option for users, it is about ‘dynamic profile’ photos, a tool that makes it possible to simultaneously use a traditional photo and an avatar as a profile picture.
