Layers of Fear terrifies gamers in its sprawling new gameplay

Layers of Fear will be “a tribute to the fans”. Bloober Team, in collaboration with Anshar Studios, will offer a unified version of the experiences within the saga. Its new gameplay leaves no room for doubt: the terror of the Poles returns with the muscle of Unreal Engine 5. You can see its new and extensive gameplay in the header of this news.

What exactly is Layers of Fear?

as we said, the 2023 version of Layers of Fear will offer in a single package the original experience, its sequel, all the additional content and an unpublished chapter called The Final Note, which offers “an alternative perspective of the story arc of the first game.”

All this with the muscle of Unreal Engine 5 and some added mechanics. Those responsible emphasize the flashlight, which will serve as “a useful and essential tool to face the terror that roams the history of the game.” There will also be a character that will be relevant when it comes to unifying all the stories.

“The game has shaped the way we strive to make the best horror experiences possible, and we’re hopeful our community will enjoy what we consider to be our star saga,” explains Bloober Team in press release.

Graphically, we can expect improved sound, textures and modeling accompanied by the latest version of the Epic Games engine. In addition, it will make use of ray tracing, the Lumen lighting system, HDR and 4K resolution. We learned of its existence in October 2021, when the team hoped to launch it last year. The delay will put an end to a relevant project within the team, which is currently working on the famous Silent Hill 2 remake.

Layers of Fear is scheduled to be released sometime next June on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
