To the material and personal losses they are suffering due to the war between Russia and Ukraine we must add a recent hackcarried out, according to them, by a group of Russian hackers.
And it is that as they have published on Twitter, this group has threatened them with using the data obtained, as well as the material extracted from the game, which obviously contains potential spoilers for it. From the Ukrainian study they have encouraged players to ignore all this material in order to avoid them.

“They are threatening us with using the data obtained to blackmail and intimidate us,” they said in the statement published on the social network. “It is not the first attempt to hack and leak data with personal information.”
“We have constantly faced cyberattacks for the last year,” they continue. “We have faced blackmail, acts of aggression, hacking, attempts to harm our players and fans, and efforts to damage the development process and our company’s reputation.”
“We are a Ukrainian company, and like all Ukrainians, we have experienced much more terrifying things – destroyed houses, ruins and deaths of our loved ones. Attempts to blackmail or intimidate us are completely useless. We’ve been through a lot. However, these challenges only embolden us to work harder because we believe the truth is on our side. Evil will never win.”
Finally, they address the players directly, urging them to reject any type of leaked material from STALKER 2. “In the event of any leak, we ask you to refuse to view or distribute game information,” they say. “Outdated or in-development materials can dilute the impression of the final idea we put into the game. We encourage you to be patient and wait for the official release for the best possible experience. We think you’ll love it.”
Despite all these problems, STALKER 2 is still scheduled to launch this year 2023 on Xbox Series and PC.
