The harsh reality of Nvidia’s RTX 40 on Steam: less than 1% of gamers have them

The new and powerful RTX 40 Series of nvidia They have been on the market for some time, although this does not imply that they obtain remarkable popularity among the bulk of users gamers on PC. And it is that both his high price (from 1,000 $) and a stock not that it has finished stabilizing in many cases, they still represent an obstacle that prevents a greater expansion of their models. Now, and thanks to the latest survey of Steam about hardware and software -February 2023-, we know that the RTX 40 are not present not even in 1% of the teams of users of the Valve video game platform.

The GTX 1650 and 1060 continue to dominate the market

So much so, that the models belonging to the series RTX 40 of nvidia are barely present in a 0.69% of the total number of teams that use Steam on a regular basis. Thus, the powerful and expensive RTX 4070Ti, RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 (the latter being around 2,000 $, depending on manufacturers and models), they have hardly had any penetration in the current market gaming. On the other hand, the most popular models continue to be the multipurpose GTX 1650 (6.12%) and GTX 1060 (5.28%), with an increasing presence of models from the sets 20 and 30 of nvidia.

The case of the graphs of AMD is even more bloody, with a series of GPUs as powerful as the Radeon RX 7000 without presence in the statistics. And that it is about models with the most advanced technology on the market with a much more affordable price than the equivalent Nvidia models; If we can qualify as affordable the 1,200 or 1,300 $ that the version usually costs RX 7900 XTX.

We will have to wait until the end of 2023 to see if the newer and more powerful models start to appear in the statistics of Steam with a greater presence or, on the contrary, the most affordable and established models on the market continue to reign with total authority as up to now.
