WhatsApp would allow you to block calls from unknown numbers in the app

WhatsApp has established itself as the main instant messaging application for millions of people in the world, this is due to the fact that the service is continuously incorporating new functions that help establish contact with others in an agile and effective way.

In this sense, a new update is already available in the Beta version of the platform for devices with an Android operating system, which consists of automatically blocking calls from numbers not registered on the phone.

This new function aims to protect the privacy of users. However, the blocked numbers will still appear in the call log, which is why users will have to enter this section of the application to find out if any unknown numbers tried to communicate.

So far it is not known what the access path will be to activate this new feature or if it will be by default when it is available in the official version. However, as is customary in the tools of the application developed by Meta, it is included in the settings.

In this way, all users of the platform will be more protected against attempts by unknown persons, as well as possible spam calls.

It is important to specify that the call restriction is only limited to this type of communication, since users will be able to continue receiving messages from users whose names are not part of the contact record. However, there are several methods to block them and they are the following:

Block a WhatsApp contact

If the person wants to block a contact with whom they do not have any conversation, they must go to the settings of the apps. Immediately afterwards, the user will have to click on the ‘Account’ section and then on ‘Privacy’. Then you will have to select ‘Blocked contacts’ and then choose the user you want to block.

Users with an Android operating system will only have to select the menu and then the ‘More’ section. Subsequently, you must press the ‘Block’ option.

There are two options for blocking a phone number. One of them is to save it as a contact and follow the steps mentioned above. The second method is to enter https: // wa.(personal number) / with the number to be blocked and the country code.

Users will only have to go to the calls section and click on the icon on the right side of the number with the purpose of displaying the same menu to block the preferred contact.

  • Open WhatsApp.
  • Send a message with multiple errors.
  • Press for a few seconds on the message until it is shaded.
  • Select the icon of the three points, which are located in the upper right part.
  • Choose the ‘Edit’ section, where the window to correct the message will open.
  • Make the corresponding corrections.
  • Finally, press the green button to save the changes.
